Plants for Pollinator Conservation
with Hartman Lavender Garden
Improving Pollinator waystations in our community & Planter Design
Saturday, June 11th 3:00 - 5:00pm
Join us on the patio of our barn and learn how to help pollinators in your community with your friends!
Whitney Hartman, local HS Biology teacher, Master in Biology candidate, and owner of Hartman Lavender Garden, will guide the class in learning about plants for pollinator conservation, how they work, and you’ll be getting your hands in the soil while making your own showy waystation planter to take home!
We’ll be discussing:
Pollinator Waystations and how they create a food source for local and migratory pollinator species
The difference between host, nectar, and pollen producing plants
Information from the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation
Your planter will include everything you need for hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies, and will be seasonal heat tolerant and deer-resistant! Planter includes soil and 3 plants (1 gal, 2 quart sized).
While you plant, Hartman will also guide you through soil prep, selecting plants for our zone, and planting inspiration for the best waystations for the popular Monarch Butterfly.
Show off your planter with your friends, family, and neighbors, and let them know how, they too, can help pollinators in our community! Take home your summer planter for rewarding blooms and visitors all season long.
After class, guests are welcome to pick a bundle of lavender!

Aromatherapy Wellness
Learn the art & science behind the wellness benefits aromatherapy can provide while experimenting with scent in our Aromatherapy Wellness workshops!
In each workshop, Joy Pascoe, Owner of Cedar Ridge Trails, will provide a Lavender Essential Oil Distillation demonstration and guide you through creating your own custom essential oil blends to meet your wellness needs. You’ll then get to incorporate your unique blends into luxury wellness products.

Live Wreath Class
Saturday, June 18 | 6:30 - 8:30 pm
Create a beautiful, live, work of art for your home! Lori of Fairy Dust & Rust in Tipp City, Ohio will guide you through making your own custom 18 inch wreath using several variations of moss, air plants and dried florals. With a little mist of water every now and then, this gorgeous wreath will last through the seasons!
Enjoy a fun evening escape to the farm, and feel free to bring your own snacks and beverages! After class, relax while picking a bundle of lavender to take home with you.

Art & U-Pick Events
Enjoy a relaxing atmosphere as we create beautiful works of art together at the base of our hillside lavender fields. Guests will receive step-by-step guidance from Megan Newton, Art Teacher at Miamisburg High School, and create lasting art and memories.
All experience levels are encouraged and welcomed. Each art class includes a complementary u-pick bundle of lavender!

Lavender Painting
& U-Pick
Join us to paint lavender in the glow of a summer sunset. Feel free to bring your own beverage and/or snack items as we make art together!
Lavender painting is on 16x20 canvas using acrylic paint.
While your painting dries, join us in the lavender field to pick a bundle of lavender & explore our lavender products in the Cedar Ridge Farm Stand.

Evening Drawing
& U-Pick
Join us for a unique “open air” art experience in the sunset breeze of our wildflower fields.
You’ll receive guidance on how to create art “in the open air” while using a variety of paint & drawing materials to creatively capture your surroundings - wildflowers, lavender, rolling hills, the inspiration is endless! Feel free to bring your own beverage, snacks and picnic blanket as we will be in the wild flower fields for this class!
Create up to 3 pieces on 9x12 paper. Guests are invited to pick a bundle of lavender & explore our lavender-inspired home, bath and body products in the Cedar Ridge Farm Stand.

Painted Tea Towel Set

Join us for a unique outdoor art experience on the patio of our barn, where you'll create a set of 3 custom lavender-inspired tea towels!

Create your own custom scented and designed candle with guidance from 1880 Candle Co in Dayton, Ohio while enjoying a fun-filled evening on the farm patio!
Customize your candle by selecting a gorgeous vessel from the all-glass collection, scenting your candle with an aroma of your choice, and topping the candle off with dried florals, sea glass and glass crystals to truly make this a work of art to brighten your home.

All the vintage vibes with this class! Sam of Macrabae Shop in Datyton, Ohio will guide you step-by-step in creating a hanging macrame plant holder, which includes the plant & flower pot.
Relax and have fun on the patio of our barn as we create together! Feel free to bring snacks and beverages
After class guests can watch the Sun fade as you pick a bundle of lavender and wildflowers and explore our Farm Stand shop.

Makenzie of Dayton’s own Sweet Virginia Flowers will guide you on how to create a custom floral wall hanging which will dry into a gorgeous work of art for years to come! You’ll use lavender, wildflowers and garden flowers you pick right on our farm.

Dried Floral Arrangement & Natural Diffuser
Saturday, August 6 | 6 - 8 pm
Using gorgeous colorful wooden flowers and dried florals, including lavender from our fields, you’ll create a beautiful natural arrangement in a vase, perfect for accenting any room! Not only is the arrangement a statement piece of its own, you can also add a few drops of essential oil to create a natural room diffuser.
Lori of Fairy Dust & Rust in Tipp City, Ohio will provide you with step-by-step guidance as you create your one-of-a-kind arrangement! Joy, owner of Cedar Ridge Trails, will walk you through creating your own custom scent combination for your natural diffuser. Class includes a 5ml bottle of essential oil to continue to refresh your diffuser at home.
Relax and have fun on the patio of our barn as we create together! Feel free to bring snacks and beverages!

Charcuterie Workshop
Dayton Charcuterie Gal will guide you through a hands-on workshop to assemble and create your very own two person board including seasonal varieties of cheese, meats, fruit, nuts and lavender-infused local honey. You’ll be able to garnish your board with lavender you hand pick from our lavender fields.
Class also includes a u-pick bundle of culinary lavender, lavender lemonade and feel free to bring your own beverages as well!
